Black Excellence: Three Black Geniuses With the Highest IQs in the World

When you hear of people with the highest IQs during their times you often think of the likes of Albert Einstein, Leonardo da Vinci, Isaac Newton, etc. To be blunt, majority of these people were middle aged white men whose stories were often shoved in our history books. Sadly for me, history class was just something to get an A in rather than question the possibilities that there were minorities that may have had the same IQ or even higher than Albert Einstein for example. Now that we have reached 2021, things are slowly changing and we as a black community are being recognized for accolades outside of the typical athletic or entertainer skillset that we possess (not to say that being an athlete or entertainer is bad).

Back in December 2020, a news article was published about 3 black children who were recognized as having the highest IQs in the world that surpasses Bill Gates, Albert Einstein, and Isaac Newton. In my honest opinion, the media has shied away from this story because it creates a “positive/uplifting” narrative rather than the “social injustice/senseless acts” narrative that they seem to lust over. Regardless of what the case may be, I think it is a priority to share this information in hopes that someone will read this with great appreciation.

Mensa (IQ Society) is a non-profit organization that provides a forum for intellectual exchange among its members in more than 100 countries around the world. Mensa is an organization that welcomes people of all backgrounds who score at the 98th percentile or higher on a standardized IQ or other approved intelligence test. It was reported late last year that Ramarni Wilfred, Anala Beever, and Alannah George are the three geniuses who currently have the highest IQ in the world.

Ramarni Wilfred

Ramarni Wilfred is a 16-yr-old who currently lives in London, UK. He currently has an IQ score of 162 which is higher than Einstein’s, Bill Gates, and Hawking’s. At just 10 years old, he wrote a paper on the philosophy of fairness which qualified him to take an IQ test at Birkbeck University. With his acceptance into Mensa, he hopes to attend Oxford University and become an astrophysicist.

Anala Beevers

Anala Beevers was just 4 years old when she possessed an IQ over 145 and was accepted into Mensa. Anala, a New Orleans native, was just 10 months old when she could identify and point to each letter in the Alphabet as well as reciting numbers in both Spanish and English. Anala’s acceptance into Mensa as astounding given that she was placed in the 99th percentile range, putting her intelligence in the top one percent of all humanity. Anala aspires to be a nurse when she grows up.

Alannah George

Alannah George earned an IQ score of 140 and was named an “intellectual genius” at age 4. Alannah started forming complete sentences at just 1.5 years old and taught herself how to read full paragraphs and numbers. The results confirmed that Alannah could read at a 7 year old level and had the spelling skills of a 6 year old. She has become the UK’s second youngest member of Mensa. Alannah aspires to continue her path through academia with her parents by her side supporting her with whatever she does.

It is exciting to see what is in store for these bright minds and it shows that we as a black community must continue to strive for greatness!
