Black Excellence: Dr. Hadiyah-Nicole Green, First Person to Cure Cancer Using Laser Technology

Dr. Hadiyah-Nicole Green is an alumna of Alabama A&M University and has been widely recognized as the first person create cancer treatment that utilizes nanotechnology and lasers in a site specific, thermal ablation therapy called Laser Activated Nano-Therapy (LANT). Her treatment involves targeting and treating cancer resulting in approximately 40% tumor reduction after a single treatment (this was tested in mice). This nanotechnology is a proven prototype for a variety of inoperable tumors, including head and neck, skin, breast, colorectal, brain, lung, pancreatic, and prostate cancers.

Dr. Hadiyah-Nicole Green’s passion stemmed from her aunt who had been diagnosed with female reproductive cancer. Due to the side effects of the cancer and forgoing treatment, her aunt’s battle ended very quickly. These experiences encouraged Dr. Hadiyah-Nicole Green to work on developing new cancer treatments. Dr. Hadiyah-Nicole Green has intertwined her life’s purpose into the mission of her non-profit organization, The Ora Lee Smith Cancer Research Foundation, to change the way cancer is treated and reduce the suffering of cancer patients by providing a treatment that is accessible, affordable, and effective.

Dr. Hadiyah-Nicole Green shines her light through out the medical world and is such an inspiration to the black community. Much of her success has been highlighted in Times, NBC News, Forbes, People, Ebony, BET, and much more and is celebrated as one of the “100 Most Influential African Americans” in the United States. She has been distinguished as one of 100 Women of the Century, along with Eleanor Roosevelt, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, and Rosa Parks. Dr. Green is a STEM pioneer, influencer, humanitarian, and entrepreneur that has open the doors for the next generation of cancer treatments and affordable healthcare through her non-profit business platform.
